Stop taking your sleep lightly!

Feeling tired, cranky & lousy? Spent last night tossing and turning? Getting a deep shut-eye is the answer!

That groggy and grumpy feeling is just the starters in the menu of sleep deprivation. The main course offers a multitude of physical and mental ailments, such as:

  • Memory issues—wakefulness results in the brain being unable to form connections to process new information and to transfer short-term memory to long-term memory.
  • Weak immunity—lack of sleep weakens immunity against viruses by 70%, erodes your DNA's genetic code, and may also lead to the development of cancer.
  • Low sexual urge—less than 7 hours sleep results in a lower level of libido.
  • Heart attack—sleep deprivation results in high blood pressure and increases the chances of a heart attack by 21%.
  • Diabetes—sleeplessness leads to high blood sugar levels and increases the risk of type 2 diabetes.
  • Weight gain—due to sleep deprivation, the brain doesn't receive the signal of a full stomach— resulting in overeating.

Sleep deprivation may also result in mental health problems like anxiety and depression.

It affects your brain by lowering concentration, creativity, problem-solving skills and makes you more prone to accidents due to poor balance & coordination.

As rightly quoted by Matthew Walker "The shorter your sleep, the shorter your life"

Word of advice: If you face continuous problems in sleeping at night and daytime fatigue, consult your doctor.
